An output from the creation of the IT Strategy and IT roadmap will be a suggested OPEX and where necessary CAPEX budget.  This will be based on several factors including: introduction of new IT services and any increased capacity required to deliver business goals; removal of redundant services and ensuring end of life technology is replaced or updated before service issues arise; ensuring security and operational spend is commensurate to your business.

This does not necessarily mean additional spend, in some cases replacing existing solutions with new efficient systems and processes can reduce OPEX and CAPEX spend.
