We are currently looking for a self-driven, highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our Managed Services team on a permanent basis.

You will report directly to the Head of Managed Services Sales as you join an established business with growth aspirations and support from the Board. The ideal candidate should have experience in selling technical cloud solutions and IT services directly to Managed Services customers. Additionally, you should have experience in managing tender bid opportunities, with the support of technical pre-sales assistance.

The role of a Business Development Manager will involve:

  • Being responsible for winning new business and for building and developing relationships to continually expand your client base.
  • Delivering sales growth by owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closure.
  • Managing the sales pipeline to ensure continuous progression of near- and long-term opportunities, overseeing the size, shape, and quality of the pipeline.
  • Being commercially accountable for profit maximisation.
  • Utilising competitive intelligence in account planning and sales activities to develop counterstrategies that neutralise competitive influence on clients’ buying decisions.
  • Staying current with industry and competitor research and information to engage in well-rounded client dialogues.
  • Possessing sufficient technical ability to explain cloud solutions and create and articulate compelling value propositions.
  • Having a structured and methodical approach to understanding a client’s requirements/problems and determining how to address them.
  • Collaborating with our Head of Managed Service Sales and Services Director on opportunities for larger accounts during peak busy times, which may involve supporting client proposal work.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams, such as sales support and operations, to ensure the accurate creation of contracts and take ownership of the overall quality and timeliness of contract issuance.
  • Supporting proposal creation and review. This will involve working with internal technical resources to ensure that all projects are appropriately scoped.
  • Providing assistance to the Head of Managed Service Sales in creating the sales update for monthly board meetings.
  • Managing relationships with key client stakeholders and ensure appropriate and timely communication is maintained.
  • Taking ownership of specific client challenges to ensure that the resources aligned with their clients/opportunities are appropriately logging their time.
  • Collaborating with Quorum’s Marketing to ensure that Managed Service and Project case studies progress and get published.
  • Managing your own opportunities and work with internal and external resources to promote them.

What we are looking for:

  • A proven track record in selling Microsoft and Cloud solutions.
  • The ability to lead, negotiate, and successfully close complex sales processes using value-based selling propositions.
  • Self-motivation, self-discipline, creativity, and determination to achieve goals and objectives with minimal management intervention and control.
  • Possession of strong written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • The capability to establish strong and enduring relationships with clients and colleagues internally.
  • Experience in working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations, including the development of presentation decks.
  • Previous experience in writing proposals and contributing to tenders, along with familiarity with contract work, would be advantageous but is not essential.
